Chapter Two...

I couldn’t be happier this morning. Chad, Derek, and I are sending the bus back out on the road. This time, a new crew of enthusiastic youngsters will man the bus on a month long journey. Grant, Kyle, and Justin are Calvin College seniors taking a break from their studies to continue the mission of The Lost Bus. I was just informed that they are on the road heading south. Today is a good day! It has been our dream to keep that bus rolling, and we couldn’t have asked for a more top-notch crew to carry the torch. I’ve never been more excited about the future of the Lost Bus project. The process of getting these guys on the road has caused me to reflect on what has led up to this point…

Hitting the Highway

Hey Everyone – Grant here.

It’s official, The LOST Bus (Lending Our Services Traveling) is beginning its second chapter in a few short days. We are currently two days from departure and are really, really chomping at the bit to hit the highway and serve. We have been so blessed in the last few weeks by friends, family, the original LOST Bus crew, and even strangers who have heard our story and wanted to help. People have been more than generous, and it’s been amazing to see the love and support coming from everyone involved. This dream is finally becoming a reality, and we cannot wait to see how it will further our Maker’s kingdom.

Traverse City (MI!)

After living for 16 months on the road (19,800 miles of road) and traveling through something like 23 states, I find myself back in my home—the beautiful high-five of America. For the first time in my life, I am actually enjoying the feeling of the sand that infiltrates the shoes and pockets of every lakeshore resident. I’m really thankful for sand dunes and beech trees and sassafras right now (oh, and the gigantic freshwater ocean that the sun falls into every night). When I set out on this journey, I always thought that I was going to be grabbed by a place that I wouldn’t be able to let go. I thought for sure that I would end up staying put in a little mountain town—somewhere like Idaho or Montana or New Mexico.
