We lost a team member

San Francisco has claimed a Lost Bus member... Been with us since the very beginning. It's incredibly hard to say goodbye to her, but she's gone too far this time. Our shed on wheels, our beautiful trailer, has decided it was done traveling and gave up the ghost on Friday. The frame has snapped in two and is beyond repair without sinking far too much money into it. Donations have slowed down and we can't afford to fix her up, so we are forced to say goodbye and fit all of our goods into the bus. It should be really interesting and will require a day in the Home Depot parking lot rearranging life and redoing certain aspects of our home. I'm very thankful that we did not lose the trailer while driving with all of our goods in it. It could have ended very badly.
Our time in Eureka went crazy fast. The three if us were very blessed to meet Chuck and Jennifer who took us in to their home and treated us like family. It was nice to have the normal comforts of a home for a bit. We had the opportunity to do some volunteering in Eureka and are now focusing on San Francisco. There has been emails sent and now its waiting time till something bites. We took our time getting from Eureka to San Francisco. There was a lot to see and moving at a fast rate of speed is not our style. Somewhere on our journey south, there was an itching to get back in the kayaks. Derek's phone found a blue body of water that wasn't out of the way, so that was our target. The river we kayaked was perfect. Secluded and not much of a current made for an easy there and back. It felt so good to get in the kayak again, it's been a long time. The bus also went through Napa Valley. I was excited to try wine tasting and such but we soon realized we would not be participating in that. I thought wine tasting was free but it's far from that. We walked in two wineries and walked right out. Either way, Napa Valley was beautiful and it was nice to see some fall colors.
San Francisco is a beautiful city. For some reason I wasn't crazy excited to see it but being here is awesome. Yes, it claimed our trailer but that set aside, it's really nice. The streets here are unlike anything I have ever seen. So steep! CJ Ellens, a close friend who we graduated with lives out here so we have got some really cool tours. It's always nice to have a vehicle to zip around in. During our tour around the city, we went by the old TV shows "Full House" house. We blasted the theme song with the windows down and got many smiles. Also, since our home is currently a storage unit, CJ has invited us to stay with him. Monday will be our day of gutting out the bus and starting over. Wish us luck!

Its Cali thats for sure. Everything costs! Woolie has moped around for a whole week now. He has not been happy since you guys left.
It was great getting to know all of you and we really do miss you guys. Thanks for all your help and a really fun week. Hope to see you again.
